EASTMAN INSTITUTE FOR ORAL HEALTH, UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER MEDICAL CENTER 

Position Summary: Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH) seeks outstanding applicants for a full-time tenure eligible (academic category) or non-tenure (clinical service category) faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to serve as Prosthodontics Faculty in the Department of Dentistry within the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC).

Supervision/Direction: EIOH Director, Prosthodontics Chair.

Responsibilities: Faculty practice direct patient care, clinical supervision of dental residents, teaching Prosthodontics, collaborative and independent research, or any other activities as necessary or required by the Prosthodontic Chair. In addition, medical staff appointments within Eastman Dental Center and Strong Memorial Hospital are required. 

Clinical Care - Provides direct patient care within the University Dental Faculty Group. Acts as a positive role model in the provision of prosthodontic and multidisciplinary care, positively responds to fiscal and professional incentives and implement a collaborative, innovative and professional approach to complex dental care. Ensures quality provision of care for a diverse patient base.

Teaching – Under mentorship, provides innovations in teaching methodology, seeks continuous self-improvement and is a productive member of the Prosthodontic Faculty. Interacts with the Prosthodontic chair and Program Director towards meeting educational goals.

Research – Engages in independent and collaborative research activities and supports/mentors the research activities of other faculty/residents. Seeks the provision of internal and external funding.

Administrative - Provides input for the development, review and update of departmental procedures and policies. Attends administrative meetings, as required.

Requirements: DDS/DMD or comparable degree and a US or Canadian post-doctoral residency in Prosthodontics (American Board of Prosthodontics educationally qualified), NYS license or NYS limited-license eligible, and credentialed with approved DOP per medical staff guidelines. Additionally: Post-offer health assessment and drug screen is required. Salary and Benefits:  Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.The opportunity for additional compensation is available through intramural faculty practice. The University of Rochester offers a comprehensive benefit package for eligible staff.
