Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Department of Endodontics. This position is a term position and the salary and academic rank will commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Ideal candidate will have experience in the areas of teaching and mentoring pre + postdoctoral dental students in the delivery of endodontic patient care and in preparation for the provision of endodontic services within a private practice in general dentistry. Position includes development of preclinical and clinical skills. Responsibilities will include course director, teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate dental students in preparation for private practice, service and scholarship. Methods will include clinical and didactic teaching, course directorship, curriculum development, scholarly activity, mentoring and patient care. Participation in faculty practice is optional.
Applicants must have a D.D.S. or D.M.D degree as well as a Certificate or Master’s Degree in Endodontics. Candidate must be eligible for licensure in Virginia and board certified by the American Board of Endodontics or board eligible for such certification. Required are strong leadership skills, expansive clinic experience, and expertise in the field of endodontics.
Experience in research in desire to engage in research is preferred. The candidate must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
