INDIANA UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF DENTISTRY
DEPARTMENT OF ORAL SURGERY AND HOSPITAL DENTISTRY
RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR

The Department of Oral Surgery and Hospital Dentistry in the Indiana University School of Dentistry is looking for qualified applicants at the rank of either assistant or associate professor who will contribute to our commitment to engage the city, state, nation and beyond through teaching, research and service, in consideration of the rich diversity of our campus and city as we prepare our graduates to enter and lead in an increasingly complex world. The position to be filled is a full-time clinical or tenure track Residency Program Director position in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS).

This is an outstanding opportunity to lead a vibrant and well-established residency program. IUSD is located on the IUPUI campus. As an urban-serving institution whose commitment to diversity and community engagement is embodied within its mission and vision, IUPUI is a dynamic campus of nearly 30,000 students and more than 8,500 faculty and staff. As an anchor institution within the city of Indianapolis, IUPUI has been recognized for excellence in civic engagement and community partnerships. The IUSD Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery seeks a leader to build upon the school’s and campus’s tradition of excellence and to further advance scholarship, education, clinical service, and community engagement. This leader, therefore, must be motivated to do administrative, academic and program-building work. He or she should be nationally recognized with good scholarly visibility.

Responsibilities for the position include didactic, academic and clinical teaching for the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program. Various opportunities are available for the qualified candidate to become fully integrated within the residency educational program, participating in all aspects of surgical care. A competitive salary package is available.

Required qualifications: Candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree. Completion of a dental program and an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program accredited by the Commission of Dental Accreditation is required. In addition, candidates for consideration must be eligible to become a Diplomate or be a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The successful appointee must obtain an Indiana Dental License. Rank and salary will be based on credentials and experience.

Review of applicants will begin immediately with an anticipated start date of June 1, 2019, or sooner. Interested candidates should review the application requirements and submit supporting documents at: http://indiana.peopleadmin.com/postings/7492. Those supporting documents are:

Signed letter of intent
Complete curriculum vitae
Names of three professional references with contact information. (when requested, submitted reference letters must be provided on letterhead stationary with referee’s signature)
