The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (UPSDM), with its in Dental Hygiene Program in the Department of Periodontics and Preventive Dentistry, announces the immediate recruitment of one full-time (12-month) non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, available July 1, 2019. This position will serve as the Program Director of the Dental Hygiene Program. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with education, teaching, and professional experience. The program administrator must be a dental hygienist who is a graduate of a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and possesses a masters or higher degree, or is currently enrolled in a masters or higher degree program, or has background in education and the professional experience necessary to understand and fulfill the program goals. Additional credentials such as PhD, MBA, or other advanced degrees with be considered favorable. The program administrator’s background should include administrative, instructional, and professional experience. Additional responsibilities may include committee assignments, student mentoring, scholarly activities and research, participation in professional association activities, university service, and participation in the faculty practice. The successful candidate must possess or be eligible for dental hygiene licensure and dental hygiene local anesthesia permit in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The School of Dental Medicine does require a successful background check for the selected candidate prior to the official offer of the position.
