The keystone periodontal pathogens Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg) and Treponema denticola (Td) have evolved to employ certain proteins for the cell adherence and invasion which directly contribute to the pathogenesis of periodontitis. Recent study showed that both Pg and Td potentiate the aggressiveness of oral squamous carcinoma cells (OSCC). My research focuses on investigating the role of these proteins that contribute to OSCC carcinogenesis induced by Pg and Td.
