Department of Restorative Dentistry
Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry
University of Manitoba
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Assistant or Associate Professor
Position # 35566

The Department of Restorative Dentistry invites applications for a full-time tenured or probationary (tenure-track) position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank, commencing July 1, 2026, or on a date mutually agreed upon. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The Department seeks an emerging scholar with a commitment to excellence in teaching and research. Exceptional candidates at any rank will be considered with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below:

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR:
Responsibilities will include undergraduate didactic teaching, undergraduate clinical instruction and supervision, involvement in service within the department, college and/or university and the community and/or profession, and participation in research activities.

The successful applicant at the Assistant Professor level must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent and a certificate or equivalent of Prosthodontics specialty from an accredited postgraduate prosthodontics program.  Experience teaching both didactically and clinically/pre-clinically in an undergraduate program, with a keen interest in research, as well as a desire to be involved with teaching at the post-graduate level is essential.  Demonstrated practice experience as well as a master’s or PhD degree by the time of hire would be an asset. A strong preference for candidates with interest and experience in digital dentistry, as well as demonstrated practice experience.

ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
Responsibilities will include undergraduate and graduate didactic teaching, undergraduate and graduate clinical instruction and supervision, involvement in service within the department, college and/or university and the community and/or profession, and participation in research activities.

Qualifications of an Associate Professor will include experience in teaching at the post-graduate level, masters-level research experience, mentorship and evidence of a successful dossier in research, including peer-reviewed publications and success in obtaining grant funding.  A masters-level degree is the minimal requirement for Associate Professor, and a PhD would be a strong asset.

Applicants must be eligible to register for dental licensure with the Manitoba Dental Association (MDA) in the Province of Manitoba.  Preference given to candidates who are either Board Eligible in Canada or are a Fellow in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (see www.rcdc.ca).

An extramural practice privilege is available one day per week upon signing of a Private Practice Agreement.
